A creative cultural experience exploring symbolism, story, and connection to Country.
This workshop introduces participants to the cultural significance of the boomerang within Aboriginal communities. While many people recognise the boomerang as a hunting tool, it also carries deep cultural meaning connected to knowledge, craftsmanship, and Country.
Participants learn about different types of boomerangs, their traditional uses, and regional variations. Guided by an Aboriginal facilitator, learners explore symbolism and storytelling through art before engaging in a hands-on painting activity.
The session supports understanding that boomerangs are not simply objects, but part of broader knowledge systems that connect environment, survival, creativity, and community.
