All About Me Bunting

With the help of this instructional resource, students create their very own bunting that includes recognising The Traditional Custodians of the Country they are living on.

Resources to assist completion of this are the AIATSIS Map of Indigenous Australia, your local Aboriginal Land Council and community Elders.

This is a fantastic project to complete on the first day of school!

Upon completion of each student’s flag, hang the bunting all about the classroom. A straightforward but impressive classroom decoration made by the students themselves!

All About Me Worksheet

A great start of year activity that will allow you (and the class) to get to know each other while acknowledging the traditional place name and custodians of the land that they live on.

An excellent resource to use with this activity is the AIATSIS Map of Indigenous Australia (https://aiatsis.gov.au/explore/map-indigenous-australia).

The activity can be extended further by allowing students to research what country their family and friends live on.
